Traditional M&E often relies on a fragmented approach to identity, measuring categories like "gender" or "age" in isolation. This fails to capture the complex, compounding effects of multiple social identities on a person's experience and a project's impact. This training course is designed to empower M&E professionals to master intersectionality metrics, a powerful approach that recognizes and analyzes the overlapping systems of discrimination and advantage. By moving beyond simple disaggregation to capture the lived experiences of individuals at the intersection of various identities, participants will learn how to build more nuanced, accurate, and equitable monitoring and evaluation systems.
This comprehensive program provides a practical, hands-on roadmap for designing and implementing M&E frameworks that are sensitive to the dynamics of inequality. Participants will gain skills in everything from designing culturally sensitive data collection tools and using mixed-methods research to capture the lived experiences of different groups to ensuring ethical safeguards and communicating findings in a way that is meaningful to the community. The course is a strategic investment for organizations seeking to enhance the fairness and effectiveness of their work, ensuring that their projects not only achieve their goals but also contribute to a more just and inclusive society.
