Stewarding Legacy: M&e For Cultural Heritage Projects Training Course in Belgium

The preservation of cultural heritage is a critical endeavor, yet the impact of these projects extends far beyond conservation to influence social cohesion, economic development, and community identity. Traditional M&E frameworks, designed for linear development outcomes, often struggle to capture the qualitative, long-term, and intangible value of cultural heritage initiatives. This training course is designed to empower M&E professionals to master specialized methodologies for cultural heritage projects. By focusing on qualitative and participatory approaches, participants will learn how to measure social and cultural impact, community engagement, and the sustainability of heritage assets, thereby ensuring that preservation efforts are not only successful but also deeply relevant to the communities they serve.

This comprehensive program provides a practical, hands-on roadmap for building M&E systems that are sensitive to the unique dynamics of the heritage sector. Participants will gain skills in everything from designing indicators of cultural vitality and using ethnographic methods to capture intangible heritage to engaging with diverse stakeholders and communicating complex findings to a variety of audiences.
