INTRODUCTION
Effective monitoring and evaluation (M&E) skills are essential for designing and implementing impactful human rights programs. These skills are crucial for analyzing data, ensuring accountability, and advocating for human rights initiatives. This intensive two-week training program is designed to build the capacity of M&E professionals actively engaged in the human rights sector. Participants will receive hands-on training in M&E systems and learn how to apply M&E data to decision-making processes in human rights programming. The workshop offers an in-depth exploration of fundamental concepts and tools necessary for monitoring and evaluating human rights programs effectively.
Monitoring and evaluating human rights programs require a nuanced understanding of both the technical and ethical aspects of data collection, analysis, and reporting. This course will cover essential M&E methodologies tailored to human rights contexts, equipping participants with the skills to monitor program inputs, processes, and outcomes accurately. Participants will also learn to overcome common barriers to effective program monitoring and gain familiarity with software tools such as STATA and NVivo for quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The program emphasizes practical application, with participants engaging in exercises that simulate real-world challenges faced by M&E professionals in the human rights field. By the end of the course, participants will be able to design comprehensive M&E systems, select appropriate indicators, conduct robust data analysis, and communicate findings to stakeholders effectively.
