Empowering Communities: Training Course On Community-based Tourism Development

Introduction

Community-Based Tourism (CBT) is a powerful approach to sustainable tourism that puts local communities at the forefront of tourism planning and management. Unlike conventional tourism models that can lead to external control and limited local benefits, CBT is designed to foster economic empowerment, preserve cultural heritage, and promote environmental stewardship directly within the communities hosting visitors. It offers travelers authentic, immersive experiences while ensuring that tourism contributes positively to the livelihoods and well-being of local people.

Developing successful community-based tourism initiatives requires careful planning, effective organization, and a deep understanding of both tourism principles and community dynamics. This comprehensive training course is designed to equip participants with the practical knowledge and skills needed to initiate, develop, and manage thriving CBT enterprises.
