This essential training course focuses on equipping professionals with the expertise to master Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) Techniques.

This intensive training course is meticulously designed to empower development practitioners, community workers, researchers, M&E specialists, and program managers with the theoretical understanding and practical skills necessary to effectively employ Participatory Rural Appraisal Techniques in diverse community settings. Module 3: Visual Tools for Spatial Analysis

• Community Mapping: Facilitating the creation of resource maps, social maps, and historical maps.
• Transect Walks: Systematically observing and discussing resources, problems, and opportunities along a transect.
• Livelihood Mapping: Understanding different livelihood strategies and their spatial distribution.

Module 4: Visual Tools for Time and Trend Analysis

• Seasonal Calendars: Mapping seasonal variations in weather, agriculture, disease, labor, and food availability.
• Daily Activity Clocks/Calendars: Understanding gender roles and daily routines.
• Historical Timelines: Documenting significant historical events and changes in the community.

• Wealth Ranking/Well-being Ranking: Understanding local perceptions of poverty and wealth, and social stratification.

Module 6: Participatory Planning and Action

Training Approach
