Accurate modeling of fluid phase behavior is essential for understanding the performance of gas, condensate, and volatile oil reservoirs. CMG’s GEM simulator, coupled with WinProp, provides industry-leading tools for compositional modeling, enabling engineers to simulate complex phase behavior, apply equations of state (EoS), and integrate PVT data into dynamic reservoir models. This training course focuses on compositional reservoir simulations using GEM and WinProp, equipping participants with practical knowledge of phase behavior, PVT modeling, and advanced compositional workflows for both conventional and unconventional reservoirs.
Through hands-on exercises and real-world case studies, participants will gain experience in constructing compositional models, calibrating EoS with laboratory data, and simulating key processes such as gas cycling, miscible flooding, and condensate banking. Emphasis is placed on applying PVT models to predict reservoir performance under various recovery strategies and operating conditions. By the end of the training, attendees will be able to use GEM and WinProp effectively to analyze reservoir fluid systems and optimize field development.
