Introduction To Cmg Imex: Black Oil & Unconventional Reservoirs Training Course in Lebanon

Reservoir simulation is a key tool in petroleum engineering, enabling professionals to analyze and forecast hydrocarbon production under varying field conditions. CMG’s IMEX simulator is widely recognized for its robust black oil modeling capabilities, as well as its adaptability to unconventional reservoirs such as tight gas and shale formations. This training course introduces participants to the practical application of IMEX, covering essential workflows from model construction and initialization to production forecasting and optimization.

Through a balance of theoretical concepts and hands-on exercises, participants will gain expertise in building black oil reservoir models, simulating multiphase fluid flow, and adapting workflows to the complexities of unconventional reservoirs. The program also emphasizes the integration of well data, rock and fluid properties, and advanced simulation techniques for history matching and scenario analysis. By the end of the course, attendees will be equipped with practical skills to utilize CMG IMEX effectively for field development and production optimization.
