Community-based Disaster Risk Reduction Training Course in Nepal

Introduction

Empowering communities to anticipate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters is a cornerstone of sustainable resilience. The Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction Training Course is a high-impact, results-driven program tailored to strengthen the capacity of local actors, grassroots organizations, and development professionals in reducing disaster risks through inclusive, participatory, and localized approaches. This training bridges the gap between national disaster strategies and community-level action, ensuring that disaster risk management is not only top-down but also bottom-up and people-centered.

By focusing on community engagement, indigenous knowledge systems, local hazard mapping, and sustainable coping strategies, participants will gain practical tools and frameworks to lead effective disaster preparedness and risk mitigation efforts. The course equips learners with the skills to mobilize communities, conduct vulnerability assessments, develop contingency plans, and implement low-cost, high-impact interventions that save lives and protect livelihoods.
