Antibiotic Residue Control In Food Products Training Course in Palau

Introduction

In an era of growing concern over antimicrobial resistance and global public health, controlling antibiotic residues in food products, particularly those of animal origin, is an urgent imperative for consumer safety, regulatory compliance, and international trade. Mastering Antibiotic Residue Control in Food Products is absolutely critical for livestock producers, veterinarians, food processors, quality assurance personnel, and regulatory authorities striving to prevent illegal residues, uphold withdrawal periods, and mitigate risks associated with antibiotic misuse in food-producing animals. This essential training course is designed to equip farm managers, veterinarians, feed mill operators, slaughterhouse personnel, dairy farmers, laboratory technicians, food safety managers, and compliance officers with the specialized knowledge and practical skills required for understanding the types of antibiotic residues, implementing effective Good Veterinary Practices (GVPs) and Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), establishing robust withdrawal period management, mastering advanced analytical detection methods, interpreting Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs), and developing comprehensive residue control programs. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the pathways of residue contamination, the nuances of different antibiotic classes, the challenges of preventing violative levels, and the critical role of a multi-stakeholder "One Health" approach in ensuring food products are free from harmful antibiotic residues. This program emphasizes scientific principles, adherence to international guidelines (e.g., Codex Alimentarius), and real-world scenarios pertinent to the effective prevention and control of antibiotic residues in the food supply.
